hi I'm Alyssa lacrosse and I am the principal at Union High School so I'm here to talk to you today about the feedback that we received Guardian are supplemental Levy that we ran in November based upon the feedback that was given from our patrons we have decided to run the Levee again on March 10th this Levy will be replacing our current love you that will retire I want to share some important information with all of our patrons about how this lovely will impact all students in the Nampa School District but specifically those students at Union High School the levy funds are really important to the students at Union High School and they help support those students in a variety of ways they enable us to all of our students to have one-to-one devices they provide the opportunity for our students to do exponential learning outside of the 3M through internships leading to learns the levy will help support the maintenance of the Union High School building our building is an older building in the Nampa School District and so making sure that it is maintained that the roof is functioning that the parking lot is seal coated that are well and septic system are maintained properly is vital to our school so you're probably wondering how the students at Union High School will be impacted if the levy does not pass but that would mean is larger class sizes we would not be able to have as many instructional support and teachers at Union it would also mean that we wouldn't be able to serve as many students due to the fact that we are a school of choice in addition our students would not be able to have as much access to the exponential learning that they take advantage of off campus and it would put a greater strain on the internship opportunities that we have at Union High School we wondering how this will impact your taxes last year the Nampa School District collected 25 million dollars in taxes most of this money was put towards our bonds with the passage of this Levy the Nampa School District will collect 21 $10 and that will result in a $4000000 savings the levy rate will also decline being the lowest that it's been in 10 years for the Nampa School District what this will mean is a decline of $64 / $1,000 assessed value for your taxes if you have any questions feedbacker ideas please feel free to contact me at em laprath at nsd131.org or you can call our school at 208-495-0559 for any additional resources please feel free to visit us at Nampa. School / Levy and we look forward to seeing you at the poles on March 10th
